Uncover the natural secrets of Andalucia’s dramatic mountain ranges while visiting the impressive cities of Cordoba and Granada.

Day 1: Córdoba

Pick up at Madrid airport with private transfer Cordoba.
Arrival and check in at the hotel with processing of travel documentation. Followed by free time to see this beautiful city, both an important Roman site and a major Islamic center in the Middle Ages. In the evening we meet for dinner and a short walk to a local gourmet restaurant. We stay in a luxury Hotel in the traditional Moorish style located in the old town, close to La Mezquita Cathedral.

Day 2: Córdoba – Priego de Córdoba (60 km)

We begin our adventures leaving Cordoba, the ancient capital of the Caliphate where we encounter beautiful landscapes between undulating hills of olive groves and cereal crops. We pass through sleepy fortified mountain villages of this ancient route of exile from the Caliphate. After crossing villages like Espejo and Cabrera, we take in the dramatic limestone mountains covered with Mediterranean vegetation as we arrive to Priego de Córdoba, our destination for today.

Day 3: Priego de Córdoba – Loja – Granada (65 km)

Priego de Córdoba is a prosperous olive-farming town standing on a plateau, overlooking the rolling hills of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park. Already taking a more mountainous terrain through peaceful trails of olive groves and quiet villages we experience the striking Andalucian landscapes with impressive hacienda ranches and white villages. As we enter the outskirts of Granada we see the incredible Alhambra palace and fortress complex in the hills above the city. In the evening we have a gourmet dinner and enjoy a pleasant walk through the old town.

Day 4: Granada city tour – Alhama de Granada (50 km)

In the morning we visit the incredible Alhambra in Granada with the snow capped Sierra Nevada peaks as the backdrop. The palace is among the finest Islamic buildings in Europe along with the gorgeous Generalife gardens. In the afternoon we will make a transition stage and enjoy some relax and recuperation to prepare our legs for the next day. We will arrive at Alhama de Granada where we will enjoy its famous hot springs.

Day 5: Alhama de Granada – Antequera (102 km)

On one of the most demanding stages of the tour, we go through the Sierra de Gibalto and ascend the beautiful port of Torcal de Antequera to reach the scenic white town. In the afternoon we visit Antequera with its many monuments and its spectacular Alcazaba. The scenic landscape features dramatic limestone tower rock formations while overlooking the town is the Peña de los Enamorados, a distinctive face-shaped mountain.

Day 6: Antequera – Ronda (80 km)

We leave behind this charming white village to enter the valley of the Sierra de la Chimenea to lead us to a beautiful gorge and take in the most spectacular views of the Serranía. Following the trails of the Route of Los Almorávides and ascending the spectacular port of “El Viento” we will arrive in the historic town of Ronda. In the afternoon we visit the town viewing the world famous bridge and bull ring (Plaza de Toros). We sample the local delicacies including a wine tastings with luxury accommodation in the town center.

Day 7: Ronda – Arcos de la Frontera (92 km)

Our descent from Ronda continues with our crossing of the Almoravides where we take in beautiful landscapes of the Sierra de Grazalema and the Natural Park of the Alcornocales. Our trail leads us to Arcos de la Frontera, a whitewashed farmstead set into an impenetrable peak above the Guadalete River, a splendid viewpoint over the Jerez countryside.

Day 8: Arcos – Conil de la Frontera (65km)

We continue on our incredible journey traversing the mountain route of Al Ándalus enjoying the deep green of the valleys and the rocky grey of the peaks. In the afternoon we arrive to a beautiful fishing village on the Costa del Sol where we experience the immensity of the union of the Medeterranean and Atlantic seas. In the evening we enjoy a pleasant swim and delicious delicacies from the sea accompanied by a fine local wine for a special end to our journey.

Day 9: Return and onward bound

We have a nourishing breakfast on the final day of our tour with the option of train connection to Malaga airport or private shuttle as requested.
