Day 2: Leon – Astorga (50 km)

We set off on our first ride with a mainly flat route through small villages of irrigated farmlands. At the halfway point we reach the Roman bridge of Hospital de Órbigo, one of the most beautiful on the route. Upon entering the city of Astorga we begin our journey into the mountains. We visit the city, its cathedral and the episcopal palace of Gaudí. Dinner and accommodation next to the episcopal palace.

Day 3: Astorga – Ponferrada (52 km)

We begin our ride with a climb to the beautiful Cruz del Hierro where we take in breathtaking views followed by a long descent to Bierzo. We can shorten the climb thanks to the support car, however, it is smooth and very scenic up until the last 5 kilometers. After the stop at the top, a rolling terrain begins with stunning views and we begin a long descent to Ponferrada and its Templar castle. Then, a beautiful tour of villages, vineyards and farmlands takes us to Cacabelos, and by road to scenic mountainous village of Villafranca.

Day 4: Ponferrada – Las Herrerías (45 km)

We will stay in a unique enclave between El Bierzo and Galicia in a luxury hotel with incomparable views. We explore scenic woodland paths and medieval mountain villages to get the authentic flavour of northern Spain.

Day 5: Las Herrerías – Portomarin (70 km)

We begin our second major climb and our entrance to the region of Galicia. From Villafranca we begin a slight ascent towards O’Cebreiro. The support car will be provided to avoid difficult sections. In O’Cebreiro we will experience Galicia’s renowned deep-green valleys, speckled with stone villages, medieval monasteries and age-old vineyards. We visit the picturesque village of Pallozas and its incredible pre-Romanesque sanctuary. The descent begins towards Triacastela and continues through a very beautiful section by Samos, known for its monastery, to Sarria. The next section to Portomarín is one of the most beautiful on the road. Portomarín, is on the banks of a swamp that forced the town to move from its former location on the river. Accommodation and dinner in Portomarín.

Day 6: Portomarín – Arzúa (54 km)

Scenic route through small agricultural villages and eucalyptus and pine forests. Accommodation and dinner in Arzúa.

Day 7: Arzúa – Santiago de Compostela (40 km)

The final stage of our journey across scenic undulating terrain. Although there are no steep slopes, the route of continuous ups and downs makes the section hard, but compensates for the desire to reach Santiago. Mount of Gozo gives us air and strength. Afternoon time to pick up the Compostela and tour the lively streets of Santiago. Accommodation in the city center.

Day 8: Return shuttle to Madrid

We have a nourishing breakfast on the final day of our tour and begin the return trip to Madrid airport via private shuttle.
