Itinerary

Day 1: Madrid – Burgos – El Ciego (18 km)

  • Pick-up at Madrid airport with private transfer.
  • Burgos: Stop to visit the magnificent cathedral and enjoy some tapas.
  • La Rioja: Arrival and check-in at the hotel.
  • 18 km circular bike route.
  • Gourmet dinner, a short distance from the hotel, where we begin our tasting experience of some of the region’s best wines.

Day 2: Around the Vineyards and Wineries of La Rioja (51 km)

  • We cross the Rioja Alavesa valley, home to the most famous wineries, stopping at some of them.
  • We pass through the picturesque village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, visiting the historic castle and church.
  • We visit the town of Haro, the wine capital of Rioja.
  • For lunch we tour the inside of a modern winery, with wine tasting.
  • In the village of El Ciego, we’ll visit the gardens of the Hotel Marqués de Riscal, an innovative building designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry.

Day 3: Logroño – Nájera – Santo Domingo de la Calzada (50 km)

  • After a hearty breakfast, we start pedaling through the most beautiful villages and roads of La Rioja.
  • On our way to Santo Domingo de la Calzada, we take in spectacular views of the vineyards and surrounding mountains as we cross the Camino de Santiago.
  • We stop for lunch at a picturesque vineyard where we experience the winemaking process firsthand and enjoy gourmet food and wine.
  • In the afternoon, we travel by private transport to the charming walled town of Laguardia, Rioja’s fortified medieval capital.

Day 4: El Ciego – San Millán de la Cogolla (45 km)

  • We’ll cycle towards S. Millán de la Cogolla, home to the monasteries of San Millán de Yuso and San Millán de Suso.
  • We’ll then travel by car to the beautiful Parador de Lerma, a converted palace where our excellent dinner will be paired with the prestigious wines they produce themselves — wines whose journey from vine to glass we will have witnessed firsthand.

Day 5: Santo Domingo de Silos – La Vid (46 km)

  • We set off from the heritage village of Santo Domingo de Silos, whose historic Benedictine monastery has stood since the year 954.
  • We cross beautiful open countryside, with a mix of lush vineyards and mountain landscapes.
  • We move on to the neighboring village of La Vid, home to the magnificent monastic site of Santa María de la Vid.

Day 6: Sepúlveda – Pedraza (41 km)

  • In the morning, we take a 1-hour private transfer to the medieval village of Pedraza.
  • Our route will take us to the Romanesque city of Segovia.

Day 7: Segovia – Madrid

  • We visit Segovia, one of Spain’s most picturesque cities, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • We’ll walk along the walls and the river surrounding the city, before passing beneath the impressive Roman aqueduct, one of the best preserved in the world.
  • After a gourmet lunch of local cuisine, we’ll continue on to Madrid.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

To confirm the trip booking, payment will be made in three stages:

  • 25% at the time of booking.
  • The remaining 50% must be paid 2 months before the trip.
  • The final 25% must be paid during the last month before departure.

Cancellation Policy

  • Up to 60 days before the trip: full refund of amounts paid.
  • Between 59 and 31 days before: 50% refund.
  • Less than 30 days before the trip: no refunds will be given.
