Enduro trip to the Pyrenees
In this blog post we want to show the typical weekend enduro trips we organize in MTBSpain, in this case, the Pyrenees.
Our adventure usually begins in Madrid, where we have our headquarters, although we can also collect people at a closer airports. On this occasion, we leave Madrid for Castejón de Sos, where the trails of the spectacular mountain resort Puro Pirineo await us. Bikes loaded, luggage loaded… let’s go!
Once we arrive in Castejón, we still have half a day ahead … We don’t think twice, we quickly check-in, we change, we eat something light and hit the trails!
Pure Pyrenees and its dream landscapes
After a well-spent afternoon of bike lifts, it’s time to relax at the hotel before dinner. We always stay at hotels that are best prepared for bicycle guests with a safe storage, bike washing facilities and tools for basic repairs, etc. We check the bikes and then rest to regain strength for the next day. The plan for Saturday is simple: a day of non-stop downhill trails. Afterwards, we will go down a little more, and to finish … more descents. Unlimited shuttle lifts back to the top is our philosophy and we are very faithful to it. On some occasions, to access a path we will have to pedal a little from where the van leaves us, but these cases usually do not involve more than 5 or 10 minutes of pedaling. Finally Sunday comes, we take advantage of the whole morning to continue riding. In fact, we leave one of the most mythical descents in the Pyrenees, the Integral del Gallinero, for this day. We end our adventure with a very satisfying finish.
Objective achieved: another epic journey behind us
After eating and regaining some strength the hardest part of the trip awaits: the return journey. Following three days non-stop riding on the best trails in the Pyrenees the return to everyday life is difficult. We used our time as well as possible in the best company. This is reflected in the faces of our travellers: that mixture of satisfaction and nostalgia caused by the need to end the adventure.
However there is no reason to be downhearted: the next trip with MTB Spain is already imminent!
